Louis graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh, earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sports Science. His academic excellence was matched by his active contribution to advancing sports knowledge, especially with a focus on Kenyan athletes.


📊 Research & Innovation

Louis was the lead researcher in a pioneering investigation on the role of carbon fibre shoes in running performance. Collaborating with:

  • Kenya Academy of Sport
  • Enda Sportswear
  • Lornah Kiplagat High Altitude Training Center
  • University of Edinburgh (funder)

This groundbreaking research led to the publication of a journal article titled:

“The effect of carbon-fibre insoles on the running economy of elite Kenyan athletes”

It stands out as one of the first biomechanics studies conducted in Kenya using local elite athletes, Kenyan-made shoes, and research led by a Kenyan scientist.

In 2023, Louis presented at the Kenya Academy of Sport’s 2nd International Sports Conference, where he spoke on:

“Investing in sports infrastructure, equipment, and technology in Kenya.”

Louis currently works as a Product Owner at FanDuel Ltd, a global sports technology giant. His role blends strategic leadership with a deep understanding of user needs in high-performance environments.

He is presently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Policy, Management, and International Development of Sport, with a vision to acquire the tools necessary to shape sustainable sports systems in Kenya and beyond.
